Salida Superintendent Blackburn Responds to Trujillo’s Arrest

Salida Superintendent David Blackburn released a letter addressing Salida High School Principal Talmage Trujillo’s arrest for evidence tampering.

Blackburn wrote, “I am writing to share that Principal Trujillo will be out on leave until further notice. Please know that we are looking to provide as much consistency in the High School as possible, and we are committed to making sure our operations are not disrupted by Mr. Trujillo’s absence. Jackie Crabtree, Director of Academic Affairs, has assumed the responsibilities of Acting Principal. 

“I know you have questions about this, but please understand that the specific details of any personnel matter are confidential.”

Principal Trujillo was arrested today by the Salida Police Department on a warrant was issued for CRS 18-8-610, Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class 6 felony, related to the September 23rd lockdown incident. Trujillo turned himself into the Detention Center without incident.
