A winter weather advisory is in effect for east and southeast colorado. The advisory will remain in effect through late this evening for Moderate to heavy wind driven snow. Snowfall amounts of 8 to 16 inches will be likely.
In Salida & Buena Vista, A chance of rain and snow showers before 2pm.. Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. Breezy, with wind gusts as high as 35 mph. Tonight, we will see a low around 15.
In the San Luis Valley: We will see snow showers, mainly before noon. Patchy blowing snow between noon and 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Overnight we will see mostly clear skies with a low around 10.
In Leadville & Fairplay: a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM THIS EVENING… Snow accumulations between 3-7 inches are expected and winds as high as 50 mph. We will see a high near 28 today, then back down to a low around 7 overnight.
Looking ahead to the rest of the weekend: Clear and sunny skies are expected to return for the northern region tomorrow.
