Salida Police Department has arrested 49-year-old Angelina Sanchez of Salida on multitude of animal cruelty charges against the animals known as “The 10th Street Dogs.”
Acting on a tip, the Salida Police Department searched Sanchez’s home at 130 W. 10th Street on July 23rd and found 14 dogs. They were removed from the home and turned over to Ark Valley Humane Society. Police also found five dead dogs and a dead rabbit.
Sanchez is charged with 15 counts of cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor, and six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony.
She was booked into the Chaffee County Detention Center and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
The 10th Street Dogs are currently available for foster care.
