Parents and guardians of students new to Salida School District who will be in grades K-12 next year can begin online registration at salidaschools.com starting on April 3, 2023.
Students already enrolled in their final year of preschool through 11th grade in the District will automatically be rolled into the next grade.
Salida Schools will accept students from other school districts on a space and staff available basis. Students living outside of District boundaries must apply for non-resident authorization to the school of their choice. After you have completed and submitted your online enrollment you will be sent a link to the Out-of-District Application.
Children entering Kindergarten in August 2023 must be five years old on or before August 1, 2023.
All students new to Salida Schools will need a copy of their birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency and a completed enrollment packet to finalize the registration process.
Dan attended Arkansas State University from 1978 to 1982--where he picked up the name "Dan R" after his fraternity brothers couldn’t pronounce his last name. He lived in Jonesboro for 10 years working in radio and as a TV weatherman. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado.
Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
