The Salida Schools Board of Education invites members of the community to join them for a public listening session on Tuesday, August 16th at 6:30 pm at Tres Litros, or on Wednesday, August 17th at 9 am at Café Dawn.
The sessions are casual, and Directors will be available to listen to ideas and thoughts from the community. On August 27th they will hold their annual retreat to determine the District’s priorities for the school year.

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas.
Dan attended Arkansas State University from 1978 to 1982--where he picked up the name "Dan R" after his fraternity brothers couldn’t pronounce his last name. He lived in Jonesboro for 10 years working in radio and as a TV weatherman. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado.
Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
