Meet Nigel! He’s the Heart of the Rockies Radio Pets of the Week!
Nigel quickly became a staff favorite here at AVHS with his loving personality. He was brought in by a good samaritan who found him extremely malnourished and very near death. As soon as we offered him food he became ravenous. We were worried for this sweet boy, but luckily he pulled through. After running bloodwork we found out Nigel was diabetic. He’s been getting treatment for that now too and is looking for a special home that can continue to provide him with care and love for the rest of his years. Since Nigel is a senior cat, he is priceless.

The Ark Valley Humane Society is open by appointment only, make sure to call 719-395-2737 and schedule an appointment before coming to the shelter! If you or someone you know is in need of pet food, we have community pet food available! Just call us to arrange a contactless pick up!
The 6th Annual Feline & Fido Photo Contest
Our 6th annual Feline & Fido photo contest & calendar is live for a few more days! It’s $5 to submit a photo and $1 per vote, with all proceeds benefiting the animals at AVHS.
