A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the Spring, Decker, Junkins, and Hayden Pass burn scars, as well as for the Chalk Cliffs area.
The Flash Flood Watch is in effect through 9 pm tonight.
Widespread thunderstorms are expected over the mountains this afternoon. Saturated soil will also make areas outside the burn scars more prone to flash flooding.
Salida and Buena Vista can expect a high of 89 today. Look for an overnight low of 55.
The San Luis Valley will see a high of 85, a low of 53.
Leadville and Fairplay will warm up to 75 with a low of 43.
