Chaffee County Commissioners yesterday extended the Local Disaster Emergency declaration through April 7th.
The order gives Andrea Carlstrom to set policy and protect public health. Carlstrom said, “Chaffee County Public Health anticipates that Chaffee County will see cases of the coronavirus and its transmission with the community. Developing social distancing policies prior to an extensive outbreak has been a proven means of helping to contain COVID-19 outbreaks.”
The Colorado Department of Health is recommending that organizers cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 10 people or more.
All government buildings have been closed to public access. You are being asked to conduct business online, by email, or by phone.
All emergency services will continue.
