The Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Foundation is offering scholarships for certified EMT/Paramedics or Certified Nurse Assistants to further their education.

The application is open to those who live within or are from the HRRMC service area, which encompasses all of Chaffee, western Fremont, northern Saguache, Custer, and Park counties. Applicants must be attending college in the fall of 2023, pursuing an Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

The scholarship application deadline is Friday, June 23, 2023, and can be emailed to lezlie.burkley@hrrmc.net or sent to the HRRMC Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee at P.O. Box 429, Salida, CO, 81201.

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
