Local, state and federal investigators have returned to the Morphew property west of Salida to once again search the area for any additional information related to Morphew’s disappearance.

It has been two months since Suzanne Morphew was reported missing in Chaffee County. In that time, investigators have followed-up on hundreds of tips in an effort to locate Ms. Morphew.

In addition to countless interviews conducted in the last two months, more than 600 tips have been called into the designated tip line, and many searches have been performed throughout the county.

Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze said in a press release, “This case remains very active, as more that a dozen investigators are aggressively working this case on a daily basis.  Until we determine what happened to Suzanne, we can’t discount any scenario or formally eliminate anyone from suspicion.”

The public is asked to continue to report any information about this case by calling 719-312-7530.

To date, no arrests have been made, and Morphew has not been located. The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office will release information related to the investigation as it becomes available.

Suzanne Morphew was reported missing on May 10th.  Authorities have said she left for a bike ride and never returned.  Since then, the sheriff’s office conducted searches that included tracking dogs, water rescue teams and tactical mountain rescuers.  Just days after her disappearance, law enforcement searched an area near Maysville along Highway 50 after finding what was believed to be a personal item of Morphew’s.  They have also conducted and extensive search of Morphew’s home and on residential property on the east side of Salida.

Morphew’s family is offering a $200,000 reward for information that leads to her safe return.
