Fairplay Cancels All Summer and Fall Events

Fairplay Mayor Frank Just has sent an open letter to the community telling the town that all summer and fall events have been canceled.

In the letter the Mayor writes, “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that the Board of Trustees for the Town of Fairplay has had to make the decision to cancel the 72nd Burro Days Celebration, the TGIFairplay Concert series and the Independence Day Celebration. We do not see any other reasonable option that ensures our ability to sponsor these events safely during COVID-19.

Mayor Just goes on to say, “This will not last forever; we will once again have events, we will once again be able to greet one another in person without grave concerns. I look forward to the time when our lifes’s decisions will be much less complicated.”
