Don Your Cloaks and Elf Ears for the First Ever Salida Fantasy Faire October 22nd

Naters Art and WeArk Salida have partnered with the Salida Regional Library to bring an all new festival to Salida this October: Salida Fantasy Faire.

The festival will celebrate fantasy and folklore with performances, vendors and activities on October 22nd in Alpine Park.

Nate (Naters) Calderone, the artistic director, said of the festival “We intend for Fantasy Faire to be like a mini Renaissance festival but with more dragons and magic. An event where we can dress up in costumes and enter a fantasy world.”

The Salida Regional Library will be holding multiple events throughout the month of October leading up to the Faire. Mark Monroe, special events coordinator for the library, said, “We’re discussing so many fun and interactive things for our patrons to do throughout October, from fantasy-themed story-times, dress-up days, and crafts, to fantasy literature displays and some really cool surprises.”

In Alpine park there will be vendors selling art, metallurgy, imitation weaponry, pottery, costumes and jewelry, as well as live artisan demos from Dave Blakeslee (Pottery) among others.

There will also be activities such as face painting, dungeon photo booth, jousting and tug of war, as well as a mobile ax throwing trailer from Fat Axes. Music will be played by roaming troubadours busking for tips, Dancers will be performing on stage and there will be food offered from Rosy’s Donuts and King Kaeng.

So, don your cloaks and put on your elf ears for the first ever Salida Fantasy Faire at Alpine Park on October 22, 2022 from 10 am to 6 pm.
