COVID-19 By The Numbers – May 7th

Chaffee County Public Health is reporting that there have been 68 cases of COVID-19 in the county.  

  • 17 deaths from the disease have been reported in Chaffee County. 
  • Custer County is reporting 2 cases of COVID-19
  • Lake County Public Health is reporting 22 positive cases of COVID-19.
  • Fremont County is now reporting 23 positive cases. 
  • Gunnison County has 108 positive cases with 5 deaths. 
  • Statewide, 921 deaths have been confirmed. 

Right at 18,000 people have tested positive in the state, almost 3,000 have been hospitalized since the outbreak began but only 636 people were in the hospital as of yesterday, the lowest level of hospitalizations since April 1st

Chaffee County Public Health is reminding you that you are required to wear a face covering when going out in public or into a business. Face coverings should cover both your mouth and nose. Always have a face covering with you, even if you aren’t expecting to be near anyone, just in case.
