COVID-19 By The Numbers – Friday, April 17th

Chaffee County Public Health is reporting that there are now 56 cases of COVID-19 in the county. 

There have been 42 cases at Columbine Manor in Salida.

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is operating at 56% capacity, or 13 beds out of 25, and is treating 3 COVID-19 patients. 

  • Four people have died from COVID-19 in Chaffee County.
  • Custer County is reporting 2 cases of COVID-19
  • Lake County Public Health is reporting 4 positive cases of COVID-19.
  • Fremont County has 10 positive cases. 
  • Gunnison County has 101 positive cases. 

Statewide, 374 people have died from the coronavirus, as outbreaks at nursing homes and long-term care facilities continue to rise. 

  • Health officials have confirmed 93 outbreaks at elderly care facilities, as total cases in the state neared 8,600. 
  • Over 1,700 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since the outbreak entered Colorado last month.

A ‘Stay-at-Home’ order is in effect until at least April 30th. The order is meant to stem the spread of the coronavirus by minimizing contact between residents to the greatest extent possible.
